Artist holds sale to thank hospice

Dennis Nash, aged 68 from Hibaldstow, is staying positive despite battling four types of cancer and is putting on the weekend sale of around 500 watercolour and acrylic paintings to raise money for the Lindsey Lodge Hospice in Scunthorpe.

“The hospice is the best thing that’s happened to me since being diagnosed with terminal cancer,” he said.

“I was a bit sceptical at going, but when I met a great group of friends I quickly changed my mind.

“The care is fantastic and I can’t thank the hospice and its staff and volunteers enough which is why I am having this sale to help others benefit from the service.”

The short-term prognosis of June means he is even more determined to surpass this so he can host the exhibition in June and celebrate his daughter’s birthday in September.

Talented Dennis, who has two daughters and two step sons, describes his work as “impressionistic realism”.

He has sold work around the world including Japan, America; one of his watercolours was even delivered to Buckingham Palace for The Queen’s private secretary apartment.

The Dennis Nash Artwork Sale takes place at Scawby Village Hall on June 11 and 12, from 10am to 4pm.
