Assault man spared jail

A WORKSOP man assaulted his wife when he returned from a night shift drunk, a court heard.

Pawel Boszko, 29, of Mount Avenue, admitted assaulting his wife on 13th August and carrying pepper spray on 14th August.

Donna Fawcett, prosecuting, told the court Boszko grabbed his wife by the throat in front of their three-year-old daughter and pushed her to the floor.

He then grabbed her by the hair and head-butted her. She fled to the bathroom but he followed, pushing her into the bathtub.

Boszko was sentenced to 120 days in prison for each offence to run concurrently, suspended for 12 months. He was also ordered to pay £250 compensation to his wife. Magistrates ordered that the pepper spray be destroyed.
