Award for council

A GLITZY awards dinner saw West Lindsey District Council receive a national accolade.

Lesley Wain, a WLDC customer support officer was highly commended in the Local Land Charges Officer of the Year category at this year’s Land Data Local Land Charges Awards for Excellence.

The national awards celebrate the work and achievements of local authority local land charges departments.

Land charges departments carry out land and property searches required for property transactions throughout England and Wales.

The winners of the awards were announced at an awards dinner held in Bristol, presented by BBC journalist and Radio 4 Today presenter, Justin Webb.

Over 110 representatives from local land charges teams around the country attended the awards dinner.

WLDC Coun Chris Underwood-Frost congratulated Lesley on her achievement.

“This national award recognises the hard work and dedication she has shown for the council’s Local Land Charges service,” he said.

“It is fantastic for both Lesley and also the team and it’s the first time any officer from this council has even been short listed for the accolade.” 

“The fact that this award is based on such positive comments from customers makes it all the more special.”
