The news that the society had been shortlisted for the award came just after they has performed their last show, Oklahoma!, in the spring.

The awards were attended by Cinderella’s director Vicky Toward, choreographer Nell Hempstock, spciety chairman Nona Perkins and president Andrew Dawson.

After what the Gainsborough contingent described as a ‘thoroughly enjoyable day’, they returned home victorious .

And the good news continues for the group with rumours abound that they may be up for another accolade in the near future.
