Awards for healthcare staff in community and at Lincolnshire's hospitals

Awards event received 950 nominations

Healthcare staff working across Lincolnshire’s hospital and community services have been recognised for their excellence in patient care, innovation, leadership and teamwork.

The Lincolnshire Community and Hospitals NHS Group (LCHG) annual staff awards took place on Friday (October 16), where hundreds of staff from across acute hospitals and community services in the county got together to celebrate at a glittering awards night, funded through sponsorship from suppliers and local businesses.

The LCHG Staff Awards are just one way in which NHS staff in Lincolnshire are rewarded and recognised, with a number of categories celebrating excellence in patient care, compassion and respect, great team work and innovation amongst other things. Nominations are made by both patients and staff.

Award winners and highly commended entries received trophies and certificates in recognition of their excellence during the ceremony held at the Lincolnshire Showground.

A raffle held on the evening also raised over £1,800 for the United Lincolnshire Hospitals Charity and Lincolnshire NHS Charity.

Group Chief Executive, Professor Karen Dunderdale said: “Each year our awards recognise and celebrate staff who go above and beyond every day to care for the people of Lincolnshire, both in our hospitals and our communities. It is so heartwarming to hear the amazing stories of why individuals and teams were nominated, and to celebrate our colleagues’ commitment to their patients.

“Our awards are a key part of our reward and recognition programme for colleagues, showing them just how important they are to the people of Lincolnshire and how grateful we are for everything that they do, every day.

“This year, we received over 950 nominations for the awards from staff and patients across 14 categories, with 55 individuals and teams shortlisted.

“Thank you and well done to all those nominated this year and special congratulations to the winners for their achievement.”
