A Boston Borough Council spokesman said the bag had not been reported to the authority’s Environmental Department, however, added that an ‘eagle-eyed’ council worker had spotted the bag at 6.40am and removed it.

They advised anyone who spotted similar discarded items to report them to the department on 01205 314200.

Council workers made aware of such items will then visit the site with the appropriate equipment and deal with the problem.
