The Bargain Hunt team comes to Hemswell Antique Centres

Antiques experts Christina Trevanion and Nick Hall and presenter Anita Manning were joined by contestants who scoured the venue, on a former airfield near Gainsborough, in the hope of uncovering items with which they could later make a profit at auction.

Several episodes of the hit game show were filmed over the two days at Hemswell Antique Centres, which is currently celebrating its 30th anniversary year.

Managing director, Robert Miller, said: “A great deal has changed over the past three decades at Hemswell Antique Centres and we are constantly looking at new ways to promote the business of behalf of the hundreds of dealers whose stock we sell.

“So it has been a pleasure to play host to Bargain Hunt which will give us fantastic exposure on a global scale as I understand the programme is shown across the world.

“We have many thousands of antiques and collectables on site and I’m sure that the contestants managed to secure some great deals.”

One of the TV experts, Nick Hall, head of furniture and Fine Art at the Wright Marshall Knutsford Fine Art Salerooms, said: “I hadn’t been to Hemswell before, a great place, with friendly helpful staff and a great eclectic mix of items throughout the units.”

Once part of RAF Hemswell, the home of the Lancaster Bomber during the Second World War, the centres now offer a mix of antiques and collectables from bygone times.

Spread over four separate buildings you will find around 400 dealer display areas.

Established in 1986, the centres in Caenby Corner Estate, Hemswell Cliff, are open seven days a week from 10am to 5pm.
