Bassetlaw: A1 Housing collects two gas safety awards

The ALMO, which manages social housing properties on behalf of Bassetlaw Council, picked up one of the top awards of the night - the President’s Award for Regional Organisation of the Year – North.

There was also an individual award for heating, mechanical and electrical manager, Andrew Steen, who was honoured by the association with a Commitment to Gas Safety award.

The event celebrated the achievements of some of the leading ALMOs, housing associations, local authorities and private contractors from across the country during 2014/15.

Don Spittlehouse, managing Director at A1 Housing, said: “To be recognised on the national stage for the extremely high level of Gas Safety that A1 Housing provides for its tenants is an outstanding achievement, not just for the organisation but for the individual members of staff who work hard to make this happen.”

Chris Bielby, President of the AGSM, said: “A1 Housing has made a significant contribution to gas safety. The AGSM is the leadership organisation for gas safety managers; our members collaborate and work together to promote best practice and improve the profile of the industry.”
