Bassetlaw: Council leader in Cabinet reshuffle

Bassetlaw Council leader Simon Greaves has unveiled his new Cabinet.

Coun Greaves said he has made the changes to be more closely aligned to the needs and priorities of the district.

He has written to the the interim chief executive to inform him of the new Cabinet.

Coun Greaves said: “In these difficult times working with others to attract new jobs and inward investment into Bassetlaw is a key priority. As part of this we have an important role to play in the Sheffield City Region. We are on the side of local people when it comes to tougher action to tackle fly tipping, anti-social behaviour and dog fouling.”

“Over the coming months I will be working with my cabinet colleagues and officers of the council to expand on our corporate priorities and provide a blueprint for how we will improve not just the district, but our residents’ quality of life as well.”

The cabinet appointments are Coun Griff Wynne (deputy leader), Coun June Evants (finance), Coun Julie Leigh (neighbourhoods), Coun Jo White (regeneration), Coun Sylvia May (customer and support services) and Coun Alan Chambers (housing).
