Following the debate, John Mann said: “Survivors of child abuse have been failed by the authorities for decades. They now deserve Rolls-Royce levels of support.”

“Survivors groups are calling for a National Institute to integrate support and counselling as well as training for whistleblowers and institutions. I was pleased that the Minister agreed to take that idea to the Home Secretary.”

“I also urged the Minister to consider a central database for missing children and training for MPs in how to help constituents who have been abused.”

“Parliament, local authorities and the CPS now need to urgently step up and vastly improve the services available to survivors.”
