This is the first full GCSE qualification to be delivered by the North Nottinghamshire College in the community.

The aim of the course is to allow more people to access adult learning in order for them to gain recognised qualifications for the workplace or for further learning.

Pip Beasant, centre coordinator for Harworth and Bircotes, said: “The government are now stressing the importance of GCSEs instead of alternative qualifications.”

“This is a great chance for people who have left school without this essential GCSE who want to open doors to new opportunities and go onto bigger and better things.”

Pip added: “Travelling to the likes of Worksop from around Bassetlaw can be time consuming and expensive in the busy lives of parents and workers. Hopefully offering the course on peoples’ doorsteps will help them massively.”

The course will start on Monday 8th September from 6.30-8.30pm. Anyone aged 16 or over can enroll if they are from Bassetlaw.
