As part of the NHS Staff Friends and Family test, recent starters at the Trust were asked whether they would recommend Doncaster and Bassetlaw Hospitals as a place to work and receive treatment at to friends and family.

The results revealed 90 per cent of staff asked would recommend the Trust for care and treatment and as a place to work.

The results show a positive increase from the annual NHS Staff survey where 78 per cent of staff asked would recommend Doncaster and Bassetlaw Hospitals as a place for care and treatment and 74 per cent would recommend the Trust as place to work to friends and family.

Dawn Jarvis, director of people and organisational development, said: “We’re constantly striving to provide our staff the best possible environment to work in because we know if we can provide the best possible support for our staff, then they can provide the best possible care for our patients.”

“We know that we are on a journey of improvement and that we are doing all the right things to retain and attract a high calibre of employees.”

The NHS Staff Friends and Family Test survey was introduced in April 2014. Staff were asked to respond to two questions. The ‘Work’ question asks how likely staff would recommend their organisation to friends and family as a place to work. The ‘Care’ question asks how likely staff are to recommend their health trust to friends and family who need similar treatment or care.
