Bassetlaw: War heroes share experiences with public at museum

Two war veterans shared their experiences with the public at Bassetlaw Museum on a recent visit.

The ‘Meet a Hero’ day was held on Monday 16th February on Grove Street, Retford.

World War Two vet Ken Beard, 93, of Worksop, and current wounded hero Sean Donlan entertained visitors with their stories.

A Help for Heroes spokesman said: “We had a great day at Bassetlaw Museum, a steady flow of the public kept us all busy.”

“It was great to see two of our heroes who were there to talk to the public about their experiences.”

“Tony Eaton did talks about Help for Heroes and showings of the Help for Heroes DVD throughout the day.”

“We also had a small Help for Heroes merchandise stall. A big thank you to Amy and the museum staff for all their help and support.”
