The beer’s journey from Wainfleet to Westminster has delighted Mr Warman and Jaclyn Bateman, marketing director of Batemans Brewery, who joined him at Stranger’s Bar to see the beer sales in action for herself.

Batemans Gold is the most recent beer to be added to the brewery’s permanent beer portfolio and was on sale in Parliament for the whole of the week.

Matt said: “I am delighted that Batemans Gold was selected as the guest beer and it is fantastic to see such a successful Lincolnshire product being sold in Parliament.

“I hope that my colleagues will enjoy a few pints while it is available and that Batemans will continue going from strength to strength
in Boston and Skegness and beyond.”

Jaclyn Bateman said: “We are thrilled to be the guest beer in the Strangers’ Bar and I was delighted to have met with Matt in Parliament on Monday to pull a pint.

“We’re very proud of our beers and this is a wonderful opportunity to show off Batemans Gold on a national stage.”

Back at Caterex, area sales manager Jim Dixson said: “Batemans Gold is a light golden beer that resembles lager in colour and I can imagine it being popular in London.

“We are best known for the darker beers but the lighter ones are also popular in the west of the country and the Midlands.

“We’ve had a great show at Caterex.

“As a local company this is a flag waving exercise for us.

“But it’s also a chance to meet up with our customers who enjoy having the chance to join us for a beer.”
