Bawtry man to be sentenced for ‘unprovoked’ attack

A BAWTRY man will appear at Doncaster Crown Court tomorrow (Tuesday) to be sentenced for assault.

Paul Oakden, 21, of Kingswood Close punched 35-year-old Iain Eldridge in an unprovoked attack on Station Road, Bawtry, shortly after midnight on New Years Day.

Mr Eldridge sustained a severe head injury and was in a critical condition and an induced coma for over a month. He has been left with life changing injuries.

Oakden pleaded guilty to the assault on 30th April at Doncaster Crown Court.
