Be on the look-out for strange photographer

AN UNIDENTIFIED photographer is reported to have been wandering around and taking pictures of people’s gardens in Gainsborough.

The man has been seen taking photos of gardens and yards in Ashcroft Road, Asquith Street and Ropery Rd.

When approached, the male said he was working for West Lindsey District Council - but the council deny this.

A WLDC spokesman said: “The Community Safety team have confirmed that it is no-one from the council.”

“All we can advise is that if anyone sees the person again, to ring the non emergency police number 101.”

He added: “Or if they have registered with Lincs Alert, www.lincolnshirealert.co.uk they can contact the police through that, who then send out emails and text messages to alert the public in specific areas.”

The male is described as a little dark-haired balding man with stubble, about 5’ 6’’ and may have been driving a silver Astra-like car.

Lincolnshire Police spokesman James Newall said: “At this stage, we don’t believe that any criminal activity has been carried out, but this behaviour is quite suspicious.”

He added: “We would ask that if anyone witnesses anything similar or suspicious, please do assist us by getting in touch with us with a description of anyone involved and a vehicle registration number if possible.”

Anyone who has witnessed any suspicious activity is asked to contact Lincolnshire Police by calling 101.

Alternatively, you can also report anonymously by calling Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
