Beauty tips for school!

BAWTRY’S Vanilla Rooms are committing to a year-long campaign to raise funds for local school The Mayflower.

The salon has put the plan together after looking into ways to give back to the village and improve local life through corporate support.

Owner of The Vanilla Rooms and Bawtry resident Rebecca Dickenson said it is an ideal way to really make a difference.

“Our business has benefited from local community since we opened eight years ago – we thought it was time to give something back,” she said.

“The school is the very heart of the village and the best way to improve things should begin with its future residents – the children.”

She added: “Like all schools, The Mayflower needs all the help it can get to support the education of local children, with government regulated changes taking place and in the current financial climate, the school despite being recognised as forward thinking, is in need of additional funds.”

“We see this as an ideal partnership for us - keeping it local and focusing on the lives within the town we love so much.”

The campaign will begin with some salon-based activities which The Vanilla Rooms will invite local residents to take part in.

Their planned fundraising events also includes an adventurous and challenging 84 miles camping trek by Becky and Adele, taking place in September across Hadrian’s Wall.

You will be able to check out their journey on You Tube, Twitter and Facebook.

The finale will be the glittering ‘Casino Royale’ ball open to all residents and friends of Bawtry on the 20th October 2012 at The Crown Hotel.
