Best year for Rasen cadets

The annual report of Market Rasen 2292 Squadron Air Training Corps in 1967 said it was probably the best year in the squadron's existence.

The number of serving cadets had risen from 16 to 40 following a link-up with De Aston School.

There was success in swimming competitions, while in athletics, the seniors won the relay trophy, the shooting team was placed second in a competition against other Lincolnshire squadrons and they scored an overwhelming victory in an inter-squadron air recognition competition.

Further trophies were won in camp and the best cadet was presented to Sgt Newby by Flt Lt Davies.
