Scunnybikers are holding their annual Easter egg run on Monday April 6 when hundreds of bikes will be converging on the town to collect goodies from local supermarkets before heading to the hospital.

The egg-citing event will see bikes of all shapes and sizes converge on the hospital where the riders will deliver their special haul of eggs and toys.

Gavin Stubbs, of Scunnybikers, said: “We all really enjoy taking part in this annual event as it gives us an opportunity to support the excellent work that the Disney ward at Scunthorpe hospital does for local babies and children.”

The bikers will be meeting at the Old Farmhouse on Doncaster Road, Scunthorpe, at 10am, and will be heading out at 11am to local supermarkets to pick up donations before making their way to the hospital at around 1pm.

Gavin added: “If anyone would like to support our annual event and donate an egg they can drop them off at the Old Farmhouse before the day and we will make sure they get to the youngsters on the Disney ward. Or they can drop them off in the trolleys left out on the day at local participating supermarkets.”

Sharon Vickers, Disney ward sister, said: “We always look forward to the Scunnybikers Easter egg run as the children love all the goodies. I would like to say a bug thank you everyone who supports this annual event.”
