Bird’s nest causes chimney fire in Scopwick

Firefighters were called to a chimney fire in a property at Scopwick on Sunday afternoon.

The incident on Church Row was reported around 3pm and a fire crew from Metheringham used chimney gear to extinguish it.

It was said to have been caused by a bird’s nest in the chimney.

* On Saturday evening just after 7pm a crews from Billinghay attended Station Road, Timberland to reports of a fire in a wooded area.

Crews used a hose, hay drags and a thermal imaging camera to extinguish the flames that were linked to a bonfire left unattended.

* An hbour earlier, just after 6pm on Saturday, the crew from Brant Broughton fire station were called to a report of a quad bike on fire.

The fire was on Stragglethorpe Lane, in Stragglethorpe and crews used a hose and thermal imaging camera to put it out.
