Blast incident: one road still closed
An explosion in which one person was injured yesterday is to be investigated by the Health and Safety Executive, it has been confirmed.
Evacuations of nearby buildings took place after the blast at the site of gas works on Ashby Road in Scunthorpe.
One road closure remains in place at the junction of Ashby Road and Lloyds Avenue. North Lincolnshire Council will now liaise with the utility company to manage the situation and work towards opening the road in due course.
