Blyth: Lorry blown over on the A1

A high-sided lorry was blown over on the A1 north of Blyth on Wednesday evening (12th February).

The incident occurred around 7.30pm as high winds and rain battered the country.

Firefighters were called to make the scene safe and there were no injuries.

Further up the A1 at Tickhill, an overturned vehicle has currently closed one lane both northbouond and southbound.

Traffic is expected to return normal southbound by 11pm but is not expected to return to normal northbound until around 3am tomorrow morning (Thursday, 13th February).
