Blyth: Stolen JCB used to break into cash machine, police confirm

A stolen JCB was used to break into a cash point at a Co-op store in Blyth on Tuesday morning.

The offenders escaped with a safe in a Toyota Hilux, police confirmed to the Guardian.

The contents of the safe is currently unknown.

Detectives are now investigating after burglars used the plant equipment to lift the ATM out of the front of the shop at around 3.30am on High Street.

Some traffic issues are on-going in the area as the JCB and ATM were left abandoned at the scene. The store currently remains closed.
