Visitors could enjoy a drink in the beer and cocktail tent, or browse a variety of food stalls.

Jaclyn Bateman, marketing director, said the feedback had been tremendous,

People were saying it was the best one we have held. We are delighted with how it went,” she said.

The Rotary Club of Spilsby also hosted a fireworks display on Spilsby Playing Field on Tuesday night.

Organisers were disappointed many local people chose to watch the event from locations nearby rather than support the event.

Pete Butler, of Spilsby Rotary Club, said: “It was a bit wet setting up but as the start time approached the rain stopped.

“We was hoping for a bouncy castle but with the forcast for wind the owner decided it would be to risky.

“Helpers included Skegness Rotary, Spilsby New Life and the Spilsby Playing Fields Association, who kindly let us use the playing fields. “ There was a good turn out but this was down on last year - a lot of people standing in Ancaster Avenue and on Boston Road, which is a shame because if the people of Spilsby don’t support these events then they will not be there as the fireworks costs thousands of pounds.

“The people who did come through the gates they all enjoyed the night and Spilsby Rotary would like to thank them.”

The fun isn’t over yet as on Friday, November 8, there will be a fireworks display at Skegness Football Ground, off Wainfleet Road.
