Matt Warman (Conservative), Ben Cook (Labour) and Peter Watson (Independent) have confirmed they will attend the UKSCN Boston and Skegness Climate Conference at Skegness Grammar School on Tuesday, December 10.

Hilary Jones, the Skegness and Boston candidate for the Lib Dems, is not expected to attend.

Students from Skegness Grammar School joined a global climate change protest outside the Hildreds Centre in September and went on to form the group.

They have also been tree planting, litter picking, organising non-school uniform days to raise awareness and working with Boston Town Council.

In a statement they said: "UKSCN urges voters to make sure to remember stances on the climate crisis when voting.

"Recent polling by YouGov shows the environment is one of the top concerns among voters.

"The event will be be based around what changes are needed."

Student Theo Griffiths commented: "‘We’re delighted to show that we are making a difference in the local area with this conference.

"It’s important that we all work together to help raise awareness, and this is one of the steps when doing so."

The conference at Skegness Grammar School on December 10 starts at 7pm, with doors opening 15 minutes before.

Tickets are free and can be booked on Eventbrite. People are also welcome to turn up on the night.
