The sites are two of seven sites programmed in by Lincolnshire County Council for construction over this year, with the works reportedly taking place in Early Summer.

A spokesman for the county council said: “A number of measures will be used to minimise disruptions throughout the works and ensure the safety of the workforce carrying out the improvements.

These include coordinating overnight works; full closures to reduce the length of works; and narrowed lanes to maintain two-way traffic flows.

“When complete, the improvements will unlock new development land for future growth, creating new jobs and boosting the economy.”

It will follow completion of works at Sutterton Roundabout which are expected to conclude at the end of March, which it is hoped will improving the flow of traffic at the ‘pinch point’ on the A16 and A17.

These improvements include lane widening to increase traffic flow; better signage and road markings; and upgraded street lights – all of which will prepare Sutterton Roundabout for playing a key role for the vast majority of the proposed diversion routes for the upcoming improvements to southeast Lincolnshire’s road network.

Other works hoped to increase traffic on the roads surrounding Boston and the rest of the county will see resurfacing near Spalding, Market Deeping and Bourne, as well as a new roundabout being built to replace the current A17/A151 Peppermint Junction in Holbeach.

The council said Detailed information about the works, including exact dates, times and diversion routes, will be available closer to the start of each individual project.
