Boston United looking to bring in a defender

Boston United boss Craig Elliott admits he may have to bring in another defender '“ after losing two centre backs in a week.

Ryan Qualter and Spencer Harris.

Ben Middleton was ruled out of Saturday’s FA Trophy victory at Ashton with a foot injury while James Jones’ loan spell from parent club Salford City has ended.

Ryan Qualter and Spencer Harris played in the heart of defence during the 5-0 win at Hurst Cross, but Qualter was playing through the pain barrier and the Pilgrims are in need of some cover at the back.

“It’s not been a great week. We’ve lost two centre backs in Ben and James and Ryan’s had a bit of a knee problem coming into the match,” said Elliott, who has already used 38 players in competitive action this season.

“Ryan being Ryan, he came through it and Spencer was superb.

“But I need to loook to get us some cover in that area.”
