BREAKING NEWS: Everton murder trio jailed for 74 years

A femme fatale, her ex-lover and his friend have today been jailed today for life after they slit a man’s throat and buried him alive in a shallow grave.

Angela Dowling, Matthew Duffy and Stephen Schofield are all starting life sentences for the brutal murder of Alan Easton.

A court heard how they lured their 50-year-old victim down a dark country lane in the quiet village of Everton, near Retford, before he was stabbed numerous times and buried while still breathing.

Jailing them at Nottingham Crown Court, Judge Greg Dickinson said: “Mr Easton was brutally murdered and the three of you will now waste the rest of your lives in prison.”

Dowling, 48, of Windmill Avenue, Conisbrough, and Duffy, 23, of Sussex Street, Balby, denied murder but were convicted by a jury.

Schofield, 33, who had a sexual relationship with Dowling at the Conisbrough home they shared, admitted murder.

Dowling and Duffy were each jailed for 26 years and Schofield was jailed for 22 years.
