Breaking news - Kirkby woman dies after stabbing: man arrested on suspicion of murder

A woman has died after she was stabbed in an incident in Kirkby last night

Police were called to reports of a fight at an address in Gleneagles Drive at around 11pm on Saturday July 16.

The victim, believed to be in her 40s, had suffered stab wounds and was attended to by paramedics.

She died on the way to hospital.

A 32-year-old man was taken to hospital with stab wounds. His injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.

A 40-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of murder and is in custody.

Detectives would like to hear from anyone who witnessed or knows anything about the incident.
