Breaking: Police believe body found in woods is missing man John Davis

Police believe that a body discovered in the woods at Middle Rasen yesterday morning (July 10) is North Cotes man, John Davis, who has been missing for over five months.

This afternoon (Saturday), a Lincolnshire Police spokesman said: "On Friday morning (10 July) a body of a man was discovered in the woods at Middle Rasen.

"While formal identification has yet to take place, officers believe it is John Davis who was reported missing from North Cotes on January 29.

"This is not being treated as suspicious, and his family have been informed."

As reported previously, John Carl Davis (56) had not been seen since late January, despite several sightings in Grimsby and Holton le Clay areas.

His car was discovered in the Grimsby area on January 31, and both Lincolnshire Police and Humberside Police were involved in the search.
