Broken arm after fracas

THREATENING behaviour landed a Worksop man with a fine of £180.

Worksop magistrates heard how Charlie Scott, 21, of Manton Crescent, was seen drunkenly ‘remonstrating’ outside a Mansfield bar during a night out.

Police officers described him shouting loudly and waving his arms wildly during an altercation on 17th November. When they gave him direction to leave the area, he became abusive and resisted arrest.

Defending, David Verity said his client admitted the charge but claimed police had been ‘aggressive’, and had broken Scott’s arm while trying to handcuff him.

Magistrates charged Scott a total of £180 in fines, and court costs.
