The call comes from the Lincoln-based social enterprise Education Business Partnership (EBP) in relation to the National Citizen Service (NCS).

The NCS is a Government-backed programme for 15-17 year olds which takes place in the spring, summer, and autumn holidays, and aims to build skills for work and life.

EBP, which delivers the scheme locally, is appealing for Sleaford organisations to pledge a community project or venue (from which the young people taking part in the scheme can plan their own community initiatives) for the upcoming summer programme.

Last summer, Sleaford residents benefited from 2,970 hours of volunteer work through NCS, with 99 youngsters take part.
