Calling all wildlife fans: join in the riverside clear up

The Lincolnshire Chalk Streams project is teaming up with Lincolnshire Co-op this Saturday (June 18) to clear up rubbish from the River Lud and Louth Canals.

Volunteers are invited to take part in one of the activities that forms part of the Co-operatives Fortnight, the Big Co-op Clean. This event in Louth is funded by WREN’s Biodiversity Action Fund.

Jonathan Gahan, Lincolnshire Chalk Streams project officer, said: “The clear up is a great opportunity for volunteers to make a difference and improve the riverside habitat for both wildlife and people.

“All ages are welcome, and should wear sensible clothes and sturdy shoes. Lunch is kindly being provided by Lincolnshire Co-op.”

The event runs from 10am to 2pm and starts at Navigation Warehouse, Riverhead Road, Louth.
