The competition is open to children, school year six or below, across Lincolnshire and Nottinghamshire.

“The best thing about our new Ambucopter is that it will definitely help us to give even better care to injured and poorly people,” said Ambucopter mascot Douglas Duck Jnr, the Parameduck.

“It’s bigger than our current helicopter and, inside, the cabin is huge.

“It can fly up to 185mph and it can fly during the day and at night.”

The new helicopter is an AgustaWestland AW169, with registration number G-LNAC, and will still use the call sign Helimed 29 Alpha when flying to an emergency.

The prize for the best entry to the competition is a family visit to the air ambulance base at RAF Waddington, together with a Lincs & Notts Air Ambulance goodie bag.

To enter the competition, email [email protected] and tell them what you’d call it and, in no more than 50 words, why you have chosen that name.

The deadline for entries is Sunday July 31.
