Can you help reunite family with keepsakes?

Geoff Meade, who worked for the BBC, ITV Central, Breakfast Television and Sky News, reporting extensively from Russia, Afghanistan and the Middle East, began his career here in his home town.

After leaving Carre’s Grammar School, he trained as a reporter on the Sleaford Standard in the early 1970s.

Now he is searching for a woman he believes may still live in the area in the hope of returning important family documents.

Geoff, 65, said: “The person I’m trying to contact is called Linda Wing.” (Pictured in the above photograph).

“I believe she still lives locally. She had two daughters, Victoria and Rachel.”

The photograph was found amongst paperwork belonging to his father Peter Meade.

He said: “Back in 1973 her mother, Betty Patchett, got remarried to my father. Sadly, she died six years later and he since lost touch with her two children, Linda and Tony.”

“My dad is now over 90, and in failing health has recently moved house to a nursing home.

“Among his paperwork I found a box containing irreplaceable wedding photographs, legal papers and even love letters - a treasure trove of memories that rightly belongs to Betty’s family.

“People in the Sleaford area helped me launch my career. Now I’d like their assistance one more time in reuniting a family with its history.”
