Car and bike show was a classic

The 24th annual Sleaford Historic Car and Motorcycle Show was held on Saturday at Lafford Terrace Car Park, Eastgate attracting a large number of two and four-wheel vehicles from years gone by, many travelling long distances to appear at this well-established event.

The show started with a group of vehicles meeting at The Four Seasons Garden Centre before parading through the town on to the show area - the car park at North Kesteven District Council offices on Eastgate.

There were over 30 trophies awarded for 1st and 2nd places in each category, including Best Historic and Classic vehicles in show, furthest travelled, best trade and best club stand – results are available from the web site www.shcms.co.uk.

For the first time in many years the rain brought voting and presentations forward to ensure that all entrants and supporters of the show were able to leave as early as possible for a safe journey home.

Mary Sanders, vice-chairman of the show, said most stayed in true British fashion and braved the elements to see the event close following the awards presentations and still appeared to be enjoying it.
