Care home resident '˜died as a result of a fall'

A post-mortem examination on a 75-year-old lady who died at a care home in Stickney at the weekend has concluded she died as the result of a fall, police have said.

A spokesman for Lincolnshire Police said ‘enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances of her death’.

The incident took place in the early hours of Saturday morning at the Old Rectory Residential Home.

Formal identification procedures have not yet been completed so the woman has not been named at this time.

Sunday, 9.46am - The body of a 75-year-old woman resident of a care home near Boston has been found dead in the garden.

Police are investigating what they describe as the ‘unexplained’ death of the woman who was living in the Rectory Care Home at Stickney.

She was found dead in the grounds of the home in the early hours of Saturday morning (February 13), say police.

A post mortem will be carried out at Leicester Royal Infirmary to establish the cause of death and police investigations will continue.
