Rosemary said:“We will have a variety of stalls including Christmas gifts and toys, along with cakes, refreshments, a tombola and a raffle.

“It is a good opportunity to get some Christmas shopping done early.”

On the day there will also be Mystery Meg there who will tell people’s fortunes.

As well as raising money, Mrs Thomas also encourages people in the UK to sponsor and support a child and currently 70 children are being sponsored.

“With some backing and support from people here, some of these children have been able to escape the poverty and really make something of their lives,” she continued.

“One of them is now doing a masters degree at a top university, another is working for a big HR company and a third works for Avis in Hyderabad, which is so encouraging.”

“These stories of these children growing up and do well are proof that the support we give here really does work and make a difference.”
