CCTV after assault at Retford station

Police have released CCTV images of a man they would like to speak to in connection to an assault.

A 42-year-old man suffered cuts and bruising to his face as he left a train at Retford station and was assaulted by a man he had spoken with during the journey from London.

The incident happened on March 11 at 11.40pm.

Investigating officer Det Sgt Paul Kazimierczyk said: “I am keen to speak to the man in the CCTV image as I believe he may have vital information which could help with the investigation.

“This incident happened on the day of the England v Scotland Six Nations fixture, which may help to jog people’s memories. I urge anyone who was travelling on this service to get in touch if they witnessed the incident.

“Everyone has the right to travel without fear or intimidation.”
