Changes to Isle bus services

The service that runs between Scunthorpe and Goole has been replaced and will now be provided by East Yorkshire Motor Services.

East Yorkshire Motor Service is funded jointly by North Lincolnshire Council and East Riding of Yorkshire Council. Both councils have worked together to ensure the essential bus link run previously by Sweyne Coaches is maintained.

Bus routes remain the same and Hornsby’s number 90 service between Scunthorpe and Crowle will continue to run.

Together these services will provide hourly buses throughout the day between Scunthorpe and Crowle, and a two-hourly bus for Eastoft, Luddington and Garthorpe.

If you buy a return ticket on an East Yorkshire bus you can use this on the Hornsby’s number 90 bus or vice versa.

Coun John Briggs, ward member for Axholme North, said: “This bus service is relied upon by many people in the Isle of Axholme to get to and from Scunthorpe, especially young people who are attending the colleges. We knew how important it was to ensure this service remained the same so it didn’t affect its users. We are delighted that East Yorkshire Motor Services is to continue providing this much-needed service between North Lincolnshire and East Riding of Yorkshire.

“The Hornsby bus number 90 will continue to run alongside the new East Yorkshire 360 and 361 buses, which means you can use return tickets on either service.”
