Couple Chris and Sharon Clark from 3 County’s Livery, Dumb Hall Farm, have been praised for the project which has seen dozens of hay bales done up in pink for a great cause.

The extra money that the couple spent on the pink rolls through company Volac will all be donated to Breast Cancer Care on their behalf.

Chris said: “It has not been easy for us to do this as the pink plastic is not widely available. The project has taken a lot of work and phone calls, but it has been worth it.”

“Cancer is something that is close to our hearts and, as the farming industry is not seen as particularly charitable, we were keen to raise awareness in this way.”

Chris and Sharon posted pictures of the pinj hay bales of their Facebook page, which received thousands of views and nearly 500 shares.

Posting on the site, Jo Burbank commented: “That’s amazing. They look like gorgeous giant marshmallows! What a fab thing to do!”

Sharon added: “Fundraising is something that gives us a real buzz. Giving something back from the farm and raise awareness was a no-brainer. We wanted to show people that farmers do good things!”

It is hoped an extra roll of pink plastic that was left over from the project will be auctioned off, with proceeds going to Breast Cancer Care. For more information on this, send Chris and Sharon a Facebook message on their page 3 Counties Livery.
