Charities' last chance to win £1k

Time is almost up for charities in the Boston area to apply to win a £1,000 sum being made available by the town's Vodafone store.

Staff at the branch have teamed up with the Standard to find a worthy recipient of their £1,000 Community Connection Award ... and there is now just a week left for nominations.

The winner must meet the following criteria:

l It should be a local charity, with a registered charity number, that makes a significant impact on the community;

l It cannot be for a personal or individual plight, nor a Government-funded organisation;

l The award must be for a specific project or a purpose, rather than just to cover operating costs, and be stand-alone, rather than form any part of a larger contribution or bigger appeal.

To nominate a cause, write to Community Connection Award, Boston Standard, 5-6 Church Lane, Boston, PE21 6ND or email [email protected], explaining why it is deserving of the money.

The winner will be selected by the Standard and Vodafone store staff.

The closing date for entries is noon on March 3.
