Debbie Prince is a big supporter of the Me&Dee charity, founded by Derby-based Maria Hanson (MBE) who uses beach huts and caravans in Mablethorpe to help families who have children with life-threatening illness to enjoy a fun break away to the seaside, whilst they still can.

To help raise the funds to keep this vital charity going, Ms Prince has set up this marathon walk which will take place on Saturday, August 20, starting from The Dunes Complex, Mablethorpe at 10am.

She said: “I set up a walking club earlier in the year to get everyone trained up for the event and I would like to thank everyone who has done the training and to those who are taking part on the day.”

Ms Hanson, founder of the Me&Dee charity, said: “I would like to say a big thank you to everyone taking part in this event and to Debbie for taking the time to organise it.

“The Me&Dee charity has been running for 10 years and has helped around 2,000 families in that time.”

Ms Prince added: “Please look out for us walkers as we pass through Mablethorpe, Trusthorpe and Sutton on Sea in fancy dress. There will also be charity stalls in the Dunes Complex from 10am to 3pm, so why not go and have a look?”
