Children can go for gold in aid of leukaemia charity

Go For Gold For Kids is open to children under 12 and is organised by local fundraiser and mum, Marie Cahn, from Sleaford, whose husband Dan died of leukaemia aged 24, last year.

The 2km run takes place around St Botolph’s School grounds at Quarrington on August 30 and should help kids keep active this summer, while helping raise funds to support children with leukaemia and their families.

Each child who takes part gets a gold t-shirt, a medal and a goody bag.

Each child must be registered to take part and pay an £8 entry fee. All children taking part must be accompanied by an adult aged 18 or over, however, there is no registration fee for adults. Deadline for entries is Friday August 19 at 5pm. Visit www.leukaemiacare.org.uk/events/go-gold-for-kids.

Gates open at 9.15am for 11am start. There will be a warm up before the race, free water and a raffle.
