Children right on target

St John’s Primary School Holiday Club is celebrating after receiving a special award for a Robin Hood heritage competition.

The club received a £100 cheque and was highly commended in the Notts Archive Magic of Sherwood contest which was held last summer.

Children dressed up in traditional costumes and walked down Raymoth Lane to see how the area had changed from medieval times to the present day.

Katie Thackerey, who helped organise the event, said it meant a lot to know their work would be used in the council’s archives.

“The children loved it and really enjoyed dressing up,” she said.

“It’s great their work will be remembered for years to come.”
