The Elite Fish and Chip Company, in Grantham Road, has received a place in Fry Magazine’s 50 Best Fish and Chip Takeaways 2017.

The takeaway made the list after an independent company sent mystery diners to all those shops that entered the competition and assessed a range of front-of-house aspects from staff friendliness, cleanliness of the takeaway to product knowledge.

Points were also awarded for the quality of the food with everything being critiqued from the crispness of the batter, the texture of chips, to the flakiness of the fish.

The 50 are, this year, in fact 60 due to a number tying on the cut-off point for inclusion.

Manager at the Sleaford branch Rachel Tweedale said: “This means so much to us as a company as it is decided on by completely independent judges. I’m so excited for my team and want to thank them for doing us proud. We have an enviable level of quality when it comes to fish and chips and that can only be achieved when we all pull together.”
