Chloe's close shave for charity

Both her grandfather and her great-grandmother have the condition that affects the brain and includes memory loss.

She said: “My great grandmother has forgotten all her great grandchildren. My grandfather does not have Alzheimer’s as severe but he will have spells where he is making a cup of tea, for example, and then forgets he has made it. I think now Alzheimer’s and Dementia are affecting more and more people, especially with people living longer.

To help raise awareness of the condition and money for the Alzheimer’s Society, she came up with the drastic idea to have her shoulder-length hair shaved off, raising £650 in the process.

Chloe, 23, said: “My hair was always the most precious thing and I’ve only ever let my hairdresser Sami cut a millimetre off before so when it was done I was like “Oh my gosh, I’m bald!

“People have said it looks good shaved though.”

Chloe had her head shaved at the Axe and Cleaver pub in Boston, cheered on by family and friends and donated her hair to the Little Princess Trust, which makes wigs for children suffering hair loss.
