This is the second time that the school, on Ringer Lane, has achieved the impressive rating after their last inspection in 2006.

Susie Kirby, who has been acting head at the school since October, said: “I am extremely proud of our children, parents, staff and governors.”

“We are thrilled with Ofsted’s ‘outstanding’ judgement which results from the hard work of the entire school.”

“Our aim is to improve children in life long learning.”

Achievement of pupils, quality of teaching, behaviour and safety of pupils and leadership and management were all marked as ‘outstanding’ on the visit in May on Tuesday 13th and Wednesday 14th.

Chair of governors, Peter Dolby, said: “This judgement is testament to the amount of hard work put in by all school staff and the wider community.”

“Our parents should be proud to have an ‘outstanding’ school in the local area.”
