The event sees members deliver donated gifts to both causes. This will be is the ninth year it has been run by the club in support of the children’s ward and the fifth for Boston Women’s Aid, which runs a refuge in the town.

The club is appealing for donations for the ride – toys for the children’s ward (preferably new, wrapped and labelled if they are for a boy or girl and for which age group they are suitable) and supermarket vouchers, toiletries, clothing, as well as toys, for Boston Women’s Aid.

It notes that while not everyone can donate new items, the clothing and toys for Boston Women’s Aid must at least be clean and complete.

Donations can either be left ahead of the ride at The Bear House, in West Street, Boston, brought on the day – Sunday, December 11 – to the Hammer and Pincers pub, in Swineshead Road, near Tesco, from 9.30am to 10.45am, or to the Market Place from 11.45am to noon. There will be a support car on the day to carry the presents as well as Father Christmas in a sidecar.
