A 600 metre search of Skegness beach took place when a vulnerable person was reported missing on Skegness beach.

Five team members from Skegness Coastguard, three from Wrangle and RNLI Skegness inshore lifeboat crew joined Lincolnshire Police in the search on Monday.

A statement posted by the Coastguard said: "Two teams were sent on a 600 metre hub search - one team was sent north and one team sent south.

"After a thorough search of sand dunes and the water ways, we were just about to regroup and move our search area further up the coast when one of the team spotted the person and alerted all teams and police to the location.

"The said person was placed in to police care. Also tasked was RNLI Skegness inshore lifeboat.

"Good team work from all assets."
